The State Council Information Office held a press conference and officially announced that the National Immigration Administration will officially implement five measures to facilitate the travel of foreign nationals to China from today (January 11), further clearing the relevant bottlenecks for foreign nationals to do business, study and travel in China, and better serve and safeguard high-level opening up to the outside world and promote high-quality development.

1. Relaxation of port visa application conditions for foreign nationals coming to China

Foreigners who urgently need to come to China for non-diplomatic and official activities such as business cooperation, visits and exchanges, investment and entrepreneurship, visiting relatives and handling private affairs, and who do not have time to obtain a visa abroad, can apply for a port visa to enter the country from the port visa authority with an invitation letter and other relevant supporting documents.

2. Foreigners can directly transit through Beijing Capital Airport and other hub airport ports 24 hours a day without inspection formalities

At the nine international airports of Beijing Capital, Beijing Daxing, Shanghai Pudong, Hangzhou Xiaoshan, Xiamen Gaoqi, Guangzhou Baiyun, Shenzhen Baoan, Chengdu Tianfu, and Xi'an Xianyang, the policy of exempting passengers from border inspection for 24 hours is implemented. For inbound and outbound passengers holding international connecting tickets within 24 hours and transiting through any of the above airports to a third country or region, they can be exempted from border inspection and directly transit without a visa.

3. Foreign nationals in China can apply for visa extension, renewal or reissue at the nearest place.

Foreigners who come to China for a short period of time to engage in non-diplomatic and official activities such as business cooperation, visits and exchanges, investment and entrepreneurship, visiting relatives, sightseeing and tourism, and handling private affairs, and who have legitimate and reasonable reasons to continue staying in China, can apply for visa extension, renewal or reissue to the exit-entry administration agency of the public security organ in the place of stay.

IV. Foreigners who need to enter and exit China multiple times can apply for a re-entry visa

Foreign nationals in China who need to enter and exit China multiple times for legitimate and reasonable reasons may apply to the exit and entry administration agency of the public security agency for a replacement of multiple-entry visas with an invitation letter and other relevant supporting documents.

5. Simplify the application materials for visas and certificates for foreign nationals in China

When foreigners apply for visas, they can be exempted from inspection of relevant paper supporting documents if their accommodation registration records, business licenses and other information can be queried through information sharing; foreigners in China who apply for a short-term relative reunion visa can use the inviting person's declaration of kinship instead of proof of kinship.

A relevant official from the National Immigration Administration said that as my country's economic development continues to recover and improve, and the level of opening up continues to expand, Chinese and foreign companies and personnel have put forward many new demands for deepening immigration management services.
